Donna M. Monnahan, 59, of La Porte City, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Covenant Medical Center of acute asthma attack. She was born May 9, 1951, in Waterloo the daughter of Donald and Marie Brandt Harrington. She grew up on a farm east of Waterloo and attended East High School. She was united in marriage to Isaac “Buzz” J. Monnahan on December 20, 1969, in Spring Valley, MN; he preceded her in death on January 27, 2003.

She is survived by one son Jimmy (Paula) Monnahan of La Porte City; one daughter, Carrie (David) Dutler of La Porte City; five grandchildren, Daniel, Kayla, Allie Monnahan and Wyatt and Laura Dutler; one brother, Harold Harrington of Waterloo; two sisters, Carrie “Cookie” (Norm) Webb of Cedar Falls, Judy (Charlie) Hewitt of Parkersburg; a sister-in-law, Coleen Allen of NE and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her stepmother JoElla Harrington and her husband, Buzz.

Services were held Thursday, April 28, 2011, at the American Lutheran Church with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Memorials may be directed to the family.
